  • Jackshaft on ball-bearings ???

    Hello,

Has anyone ever replaced the bushings on the jackshaft with ball bearings? os is there a stronger jackskaft including bearings available?

    Greetings from Austria,

I did one years ago with sprockets on a solid shaft. I made adjustment plates that had 2 bolt flange bearings mounted to them. It was successful but time consuming. I have found the pins on stock jackshafts are the wear point and now make new pins with4140 steel and hard bushings. I've had vehicles apart after hundreds of hours and see little wear on the pins and bushings. The buffalo truck has the capability of bending the stock pins if heavily loaded and abused. Haven't seen a 4140 pin bent yet.
