  • help with Max IV inner bearing flanges.

    Good day all.
I am replacing all the bearings on my non splined axels. Max IV. I don't see them on the parts breakdown. Some inner bearing flanges are cut down. they look as if this is done to prevent interference, but for the life of me I cant remember what position they came from. There are 4 cut down, are they used in two pairs or just one cut down on four pairs ?? Please help ....
    Thanks.

Ive seen mixed inner flanges. Some with flat sides and some with full round. If I remember right the full round ones will clear the tub ect. Just match them up and install. Watch for any interference with tub or any other parts. I prefer the full round or Argo inner greasable flanges. The clipped ones in the Max don't seal the grease between the flanges as well.

Does anyone use the paper gaskets? Seems a more durable material wood be better... I ordered for my inners, hav to keep an eye on them to see how they hold up

I use a locktite product # 518 for sealing flanges. I've seen to many bearings turning in the flanges when lubricating chains to re install the paper gaskets. My opinion is the paper leaves a bit to much clearance between the flange and bearing.

I use 3m strip caulk for the outer flanges on all my machines. Just make sure you use hand tools to tighten and not air or power tools as you could bend the flanges while the strip caulk is spreading out.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!
