  • Max IV headlight upgrade

Got out this evening and swapped out the old 55 watt lights to a pair of 18 watt led cubes...60° flood pattern.

I made a plate with $1.18 cutting boards from Walmart and riveted the plates in place.

Wired them into the factory wires and now have plenty of light.

It does look funny though...I have enough space, maybe I could make another plate and put the floods high and outside and add a set of spot beams low and inside...

    Hummmm...

    Shot down the street..

They light up 3 houses down easy and shine the stop sign at the end of the block.

Those are nice headlights. I'd mount another set if they aren't too expensive to fill up the mounting area.

Nice. Cutout the back of the original light, and mount them inside.

That would be pretty cool but I imagine it would diffuse the light quite a bit.

I'm leaning toward moving the floods up and out of center then adding a smaller pair of spot beams to the low and inside.

Should fill the space better and look pretty cool.

Then again....I may just leave it alone.

I like the light output they give you.

Yea that last pic really doesn't show how good they are.
I can read small print on an envelope from 2 houses down!

              $25 bucks off Amazon.

I flush mounted a pair in my rear bumper and tied them into my reverse lights with a relay....makes backing up easy at night.

              I like bright lights.

draws low amps and projects better than any stock light found..... I would say that they are a perfect choice. How long have you had the ones in the bumper of your truck? good life expectancy?
