  • Spray Paint Removal from Max IV

My latest project had a wonderful spray bomb finish.

After doing some reading online and reading some reviews from paint removers I came across Citristrip.

Citristrip 1 qt. Safer Paint and Varnish Stripping Gel-QCG73801T - The Home Depot

Figured I'd give it a try. Some reviews said it worked on plastic and didn't harm it. Looking at the product at the store I noticed it came in a HDPE bottle. After trying on a small spot it worked great.

Did the entire tub let it sit for about an hour and 98% of the paint just came off.

May look like a lot of work but was actually only about 90 min of scrubbing with a stiff bristle brush and rinsing.

I know there are lots of these machines painted out there and wanted to share my findings.

Now I can get started on wrenching on this thing.

That seems like a great product, thanks for sharing the results as that should save many folks a lot of effort for those spray bombed specials.
