  • Winch Plate Dimensions

What are some good dimensions for a winch plate? Yeah I'm not paying $100-$200 for a plate I can make from scratch, but what are some of the designs you guys got?
What do you like about it?
    Dislike?
    Cool winch plate/brush guard combo?

    Let's see what ya got.

This is the winch mount I made using the stock Max IV winch plate. The stock one assumes you want to mount the winch vertically, but i wanted to mount it horizontally. I welded a rather large piece of angle on to the winch plate, which also lowered the center. You could certainly make something like this from scratch. It is also bolted to the body band to add strength.

Borrowing tools is for the weak.

Just remember what you are pulling on. I don't care for the stock mounts, I prefer to spread the force out more. Raising it up a few inches also helps to keep it dry when entering a pond or other water. Take a look through the gallery to find something you like.
