Going back together

Made a little progress today after nut bolt and washer shopping. I have a long ways to go but I finally feel like I'm on the downhill side of the slope

That is beautiful. I just got my frame out of the tub. I got the rear axles free of the sprockets with a 10 ton porta power.

I saw your other thread where you posted a single image in a post. To post multiple images, do the same thing. Just copy the link from the gallery and paste it in your post. You can do that as many times as you like before you submit the post.

I had the same problem with stuck sprockets. I got out my porta power, put some pressure on it and next thing I knew the axle shot out the side of the tub. Worked on both sides.

OK guys more questions. I'm going back together. How are the jack shafts pinned to the adjusters, cotter pin or roll pin? How much lateral play is ok with jack shaft sprockets? Can I use regular washers for spacers on jack shaft? Thanks in advance

The jackshaft support uses cotter pins. Most of the jackshafts I have adjusted have quite a bit of lateral play. I'm not sure what the tolerances are. You should be able to use any washer to act as a spacer.

Thanks much Mike. I've been trying to use my older unit as a guide but, it's been cobbled up pretty good so I want to make sure I don't screw anything up. After I get this one done, I'll tear into the older unit and try to make it right.

Well I was making pretty good progress till I noticed this bent jack shaft. How I missed it when I was cleaning everything up I do not know. I did get fuel tank mount and roll bar mount cleaned and painted though.

At least the bent jackshaft is a cheap replacement. I just bought one of those from Max6x6.com | Max Atv Parts | Max Amphibious ATV a few weeks ago.
