  • What's the pulley/drive unit called?

I'm new to this and I'm trying to figure out what the unit that comes off the back of the engine is called. It looks like a torque converter with a pulley. The pulley runs the drive belt. It's on an older Max 2. I got it as a basket case and I'm going through things as I put it back together. This Max has been sitting for a while and I'm not sure what problems it may or may not have. Is this part something that should be disassembled and checked? I don't mind the work and I figure now is a good time to work on what ever needs it. Are there any videos on how to disassemble/rebuild this unit.
I'm really enjoying this forum and this project. I'm a retired mechanic and need to have a project every once in a while.

I think your referring to the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). A quick google search of "CVT" can give you a lot of information to understanding what it does and how it works.

I seen a vid on repair of the secondary clutch (the primary clutch is attached to the engine, secondary is on the T20 transmission) on youtube, made by Rock Doctor, a member here. Its a good vid to view.
