  • Max iv transmission under seat question

What do the guys do with the drive clutch when they move the max iv transmission under the seat? It looks like if you move the transmission straight forward and drop the engine down the drive clutch will stick out of the tub like 2". Does the tranny get offset or do you modify the tub for clutch clearance? Thanks

You have to modify the tub for clearance by heating and reshaping it around the drive clutch. My transmission stayed in the stock location but I did move my engine forward and down to the frame and had the same issue you are asking about. Here are a couple photos showing where the tub was remolded:

Perfect that's kind of what I figured. I tried searching with no luck. I plan on keeping my back seat so the transmission will have to go forward
      Thanks for the info

Could you give me a little more detail on the process of reshaping the tub? I am assuming a heat gun but how did you get it to mold the way you wanted it to? Thanks
