  • Thank you Thank you

Finally after almost 4 months of evenings and weekends I got to take my Max II on its post restoration maiden voyage.

Frame stripped and repaired then covered with POR 15
Wire wheeled all axles replaced both rear sprockets
Replaced all bearings, pillow blocks and flanges
All new chain and 1 new jack shaft
New battery cables and ignition switch
New throttle cable, duck bill and clutch cable
    New park brake pads
Made new wiring harness from plans on start page
    Replaced all nuts, bolts, washers

Thank all of you that have suffered my newb questions and provided guidance and answers.

This has been a knuckle busting, blood and sweat, sometimes so frustrating I couldn't look at machine for days, ultimately very rewarding experience. I know my rig inside and out now and after whitetail season I'll be adding more lighting, a winch, and a bilge pump along with converting my 2nd parts rig to a trailer/wagon for the Grandkids.

You have done what I plan on doing to my Max IV. Looking forward and not looking forward. Where did you buy your chain, bearings etc?
