Personally,I don't care for him;especially when he's in a position to set prices above those of the original manufacturer. As with BS then,he may be doing that now....I don't know.
You are another one of the many, many folks out there that have had unpleasant dealings with him. I was one of them too. And it's funny, when I talk to random people that stop me when they see me with my 6 wheelers and say they also had a 6 wheeler, we get to talking and they tell me how they were burned by him as well. I was even on my motorcycle in Rochester, NY and a guy stopped me when I was fueling up and we were chatting about bikes. He said that he used to be into Bridgestones......he went on to say how he too was burned by someone who dealt with Bridgestone parts. I asked if it was Mr. Clark. His jaw dropped and he couldn't believe I knew about him too. Small world.

Just to throw my 2 cents in,
I bought my 2000 MAX II used in 2005 and the guy I bought it from had Richard overhaul the T20 with the "special silver bands" that last longer. when I tore it down a few years later all 4 drums were different size. and yes I knew then that there was no "silver bands" in that so I just laughed.

On a good note, I have called Richard for parts quote's and have always had a great conversation and never felt rushed with him. and the prices quotes were on par from recreative, whom I went with.

      this is my experience

Shaft drive is bulky and heavy, but I would like to see a solid maintainance free driveline for non amphibious atvs, for pushing snow and typical yard work. Something heavy duty and bullet proof for pulling fencing trailers, that would be more reliable than a 4 wheeler. Chains are high maintainance, belts are required to be very clean to last (no rocks or dirt for cog belts) so a shaft driven Max would be badass.
        Agreed!

Polaris makes SxS under 1,000 pounds with 45 HP 4wd and full suspension with roll cages and winches. I'm sure you could make a small 6x6 that weighed not much more than the MAX IV with all shafts. Would greatly improve ground clearance! Could have some portal boxes... Drool
