  • What is the difference between....

What is the difference between single-roller chain and O-ring chain as it pertains to a Max II. I was shopping for a replacement chain and was asked if I had one or the other. Don't know. Anyone?

Functionally, they are equivalent in the sense that they will both transfer power. The O ring chain has some O rings where the pins go through the plates to keep dirt out. That design allows the chain to last longer when operating in dirty environments.

Oring chain is predominantly motorcycle stuff and is stronger than standard roller chain. Are you working on the max2 with missing center chain? Call or text me at 907-388-8582 and we can sort out what chain you need.

        thanks, but...

Thanks msafi65. I appreciate the offer. I contacted Richard's Relic's yesterday and he helped me get the chain I needed. His only question was whether I had splined or bolted axles. Another company asked if I had single-roller chain or O-ring chain. Now I'm confused a little. Hopefully, Richard's Relics got it right, as ice fishing is just starting and I use my Max for the that. Thanks again for the offer. I've attached a photo of the chain that broke. Can you tell me which it is and I will call Rich's and ask if they sent me the correct one.
