  • thinking of new max iv 1050t

hello all, i have never owned a 6x6 but thinking of getting a max iv 1050t for goofing off and work at my little lake cabin.

my main hold off is it breaking down and no one around to fix it. i live in sioux falls sd. if i maintain it properly....grease, oil, engine maintenance, are they quite reliable? mainly familiar with quad atv's. i remember as a little kid my brother had a hustler for a while.

any advice or anything is appreciated. looks like a great site.
    thanks

With proper maintenance they are reliable. Plus as long as you are at least a little mechanically inclined, they are very simple machines to work on if something was to ever happen.

I suggest you try to find someone in your area with a Max and go take a look at it. It will probably put any worries that you have to rest.

Lastly, if you ever run into any problems and you don't know how to tackle them, you can post here on the forums. There are many knowledgeable Max experts on the board so you aren't alone!

Good luck and let us know what you decide to do.

I,ve had my Max IV, 25 hp , since 2003 , and I,ve only got 99 hours on it , and its been VERY realiable . I just change the oil , adjust and lube the chains , and wash it after every ride . Its been a great machine .

This makes me feel even better about my choice. My new Max IV 1050T is scheduled to arrive on Monday, 1/28. I'm used to driving my son-in-law's older Max IV with the 18 HP Briggs. I've been extremely impressed with its abilities. Can't wait to fire up the new one on Monday. Also very glad to have found this forum. I'm sure I'll be "knocking on the door" frequently. After having driven Argo as well, I don't think you can go wrong with a Max. AND... It's made right here is the USA! BUY AMERICAN... Well, OK... It does have a Kawasaki engine

            Take care, and ride safe...

I had the same worries as you when i started looking, i bought a Max II and with the help of some forum members who showed me the ins and outs they really are very simple, kinda like a bicycle with alot more chains and sprockets
"You've got to stand for something, or you'll fall for anything"

"Theres the right way to do things, the wrong way to things, and the way everyone else does it"

Max II, 22 Inch Rawhides, Winch, 16hp Briggs Vanguard...My First AATV...
