Well my belt broke recently and I figured it was just bc it's an old belt. Well I'm getting ready to put the new one on and realize my clutch is completely open or fully extended. Does this mean I need a new clutch? Or is there something I can do to free it up? Any help is appreciated. I'm going to try and post a pic of it.

I've seen that happen a few times, just force it back closed. Just be sure not to stick your fingers in the way when it closes. I'd take the opportunity to lubricate it while it's all open and easily accessible.Meep Meep -
Thanks for the reply. That's exactly what I did last night. Sprayed it down inside pretty good. Carefully tapped the outside with a dead blow hammer and tried pulling the pulley back. Didn't budge. Maybe I'll try harder now and maybe get lucky since it was sitting all night with wd40. Thanks again.Originally posted by garrett1308 View PostComment

If you have to,pry the movable face away from the engine. It will snap back when over center. As mentioned before keep fingers out of it!Comment

Thanks for the reply. Haven't tried prying yet. Was too scared to mess up the face of the pulley. Maybe I'll get a cloth and wrap it around a pry bar and give it a shot. I will most definitely keep my digits away from there!Originally posted by msafi65 View PostComment

WD40 isn't the best lube to use. Its more of a water displacer, which evaporate s. Use of an oil product would be better.Stand for the Flag. Kneel for the Cross.Comment

Got it guys. Thanks for everyone's help. I thought I was looking at having to replace it. So glad I dont. My guess is that while witching it onto the trailer after the belt broke I was running the engine so I didn't drain the battery and since there wasn't a belt there to keep tension on the clutch it decided to go all the way.
