  • Max IV Front Seat Help

Max IV Owners, I am just starting to toss around ideas to make my Max IV more comfortable. Took it for a short ride yesterday and it was tough, no room. I am 6'5" and 240# making a tight fit on the front seat. Machine will be used mainly for the wife and I. Any suggestions on moving the front seat back, removing all together or doing something different is deeply appreciated. Pictures would sure help. Thanks

If your not going to use the rear seat I would think you could move the front seat back with only a little fab work. I saw a post on here about this before.
Search Max IV seat in the search tab. It will bring every think posted about it on here up for you to look over.

Yep wedge has got it, on my Max 4 my knees were in the dash i unbolted it slid my oversize body back on the seat and moved about till I felt comfortable marked redrilled and bolted it down much better,of course I took a stand back and yea the backseat was practically useless to anybody bigger than a kid but since we only tour with two of us I pulled the pads off the rear seat and built a deck with a back on it threw down a piece of carpet and the girls(our English Bull Terriers) luv it.NCT

That is what I was thinking could be done. Also may give you a better ride being more to the center of the machine ?

If you don't post a pic of the Bullies riding.........then it didn't really happen!

I am 6'-3" 320 I moved the seat back 4" removed the rear seat and made a cargo box to put in its place. When I drilled the new holes for the seat I put in studs instead of bolts and nuts so you could get the seat out easier.

Look in my pics and you will see a tractor seat with suspension installed by the previous owner. It adjusts front to back and has arm rests, looks like a TSC model. No way the factory seat can compare to the tractor version. I am 6.3, 225 and it works quite well.

Yup, I did the same thing. Being built for the horizontally challenged I moved my front seat back a full six inches.

That's why tapcon screws are part of my basic kit, place the front seat where you want it and then drive the screws through the holes in the seat mounting frames and you are done.
