  • Max II question

I'm looking at a Max II that will be auctioned. The serial number is 12292.

Can any Max experts out there tell anything about the machine from its serial number, such as engine size/type, solid or hollow axles, splined axles, etc.?

I realize the machine could have been modified from its original build, but just trying to get a benchmark.

    Thanks everyone.

That would be roughly early 90's, with hollow bolt through axles and probably a 14 horse. That was probably the most common engine,

I have a master sheet concerning MAX II and the serial numbers. Yours was built in 1994. 1994 Serial numbers are 10556-11297.

Thanks to all that replied. This was a salvage machine at an auction. It sold yesterday for 1800......but not to me!

IMHO, there are some terms that I might consider at an auction: ESTATE, REPO, maybe some others, but SALVAGE is a scary term. Salvaged from what? You might be lucky that you missed that one.

Hi power I completely agree. I decided I wasn't going to give more than a couple hundred for the machine because I didn't know why it was considered salvage and I couldn't go look at it.
