  • Winch and snow plow complete

I finally got the winch and snow plow mounted on the Max. The winch raises and lowers the plow no problem. My brother cut out the brackets on a water jet and I fabricated and welded the winch mount and plow supports. I just need some snow to test it out.

That looks like a neat setup. Of course herein Mississippi, I won't have to worry about taking on that project!

Here in Richmond Virginia, we really do not get much snow. I remember a 5 year run that we only got a few dustings, but the past 2 years we have gotten some considerable snow. 18 inches last year and 10 inches this year. Now that I have the plow ready, we probably will not get any more for several years. I will be ready if we do.

Thanks. Still plenty of winter left, so you may get the snow before spring. I have messaged xbunsenx a couple times. He is from Powhatan IIRC. I would like to go to Busco this year in April if possible. I still need to work out my schedule. Hope to be there in April. Jay

              Max II snowplow.jpg

My Max II plow pushes a lot more snow than I ever imagined. And it mounts in 5 minutes or less with only 2 spring clips. Most times I use it even before the snow stops falling cause it's so much fun to use. Shuttle shifting the T-20 can be tricky sometimes. But I found moving the shifter first, then lifting the plow moves it just enough to engage the gears.

That new 6' snow blower in the background only got used once this winter just to see how it worked. But for economy, the 18 HP Max sure beats that 105 HP turbo diesel Cat.

I pray you get a good snowfall soon. Happy plowing!

Thanks, I look forward to trying it. Since I do not have tracks, I will probably plow as it falls. 8" accumulates, then plow to keep it from getting too deep. I will post a before and after pic of the driveway if we get snow. I'll get the wife to video it as well. best regards, Jay

I plowed ~8" yesterday for the UPS guy. He never showed up. Am about to plow another ~6" this morning. Oh what fun it is to ride...I love snow.

I spray silicone on the blade to keep snow from freezing fast. Snow slides off like sh!t from a goose.
