hello I'm new to 6x6 ,just bought a 94 max 2 with tracks runs good,but there's a red button switch on the dash that lights up when you turn It on it seems to go to a little black thing attached to the drivers side upper cowl but appears to to do nothing. Any ideas anyone?

May have been the heated throttle cable switch. If you're in a cold area, you may want to get a new one if it's gone. If not, you could always run a bilge through it

While it may appear to do nothing, if it lights, it is an indication that power is on to the heated throttle cable. I do not remember if there is a wiring diagram for the heated throttle cable, but you will know if you have one. Look at the throttle cable. If it is encased in a clear plastic shroud with what appears to be a bare wire spiral wrapped around a red wire for the length of the throttle cable, you have a heated throttle cable. The wires run to the engine and plug into a black 2 prong plug near the engine. Those wires run back to the dash and your switch. While the heated throttle cable does work, it is best to keep the throttle cable dry. Trying to run the throttle while frozen or before it thaws will over tax the throttle cable connections and something will break! I found out the hard way.
