  • Springers

Hey. So, when I first joined 6x6world, I was voraciously reading as many posts as possible. Maybe not as thorough as I should have, but I wanted to know/learn as much as possible. One of the topics I found extremely interesting was the springer Max machines.

Fast forward to the past few months. In rebuilding my Max IV, I've become evermore interested in how one would go about building a springer, but I've hit a bit of a conundrum. All the posts I remember looking about in the past were written by a gentleman named Whipper-ag. Now, when I search to read and learn from them, I only find blank pages. Or, at least, pages with HIS posts missing. Does anyone have any insight as to what would have happened to this treasure trove of pertinent information?

    Thanks

He has a write-up on Route 6x6 with videos. That's all I know.

I think he also posted a Max II springer (built, not just a kit) for sale.

March 9, 2017 This is a response I got for Whipperag. I asked about a springer set up for a Max II.

Sorry I don’t have a springer kit for a Max II.
              I don’t have a parts list either.

On another note I heard you can use a #2 or # 4 VW axle. I believe I could take the suspension from a 4 wheeler and adapt to a Max II or IV. I JUST NEED TO FIND A JUNKYARD FOR 4 WHEELERS. Thats about all I know. I have found pictures and video on you tub.
              Good luck.
