I haven't had much luck finding out what it is, maybe I'm not using the right words in the searching, but, can any of you kind folk tell me if 1976 was an abs or hdpe year for our machines? I'm asking because I have some plastic welding to do and am making a one piece skid plate. Or doesn't it even matter? I just don't want to be using something that's going to crack out or separate after it's plastic welded. As always thank you guys for all of your knowledge.

Edit. Mine is some kind of bastard I guess, I found that its most likely hdpe but not sure on year of tub because of the extra molding around the front tire, I read that is 74 and older?

I'm confused on my project as is, the frame number says it's a '76 but looking through the gallery the tub says '74 or older?

That is hdpe though possibly brittle by now, the tub is early as the hump was removed for the first gen track set up.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
      Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

Yours is HDPE for sure. Only the very earliest Max machines had an ABS body, and there are very few of them around anymore (and most of them are bleached pink by the sun).
Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.
