  • Max II Chain information

I came across some chain to put on my MaxII and was wondering if any one has used this type of chain. I was wondering if it would work with my new sprockets. The Chain is BRAND NEW #50SS STAINLESS STEEL ROLLER CHAIN 5/8" pitch What are your sugestions on this

If I remember correctly stainless steel is lower in tensile strength as compared to Tsubaki 530 Oring chain. Tsubaki is highly recommended, as are a few other brands.

I would think the stainless is harder and would cause a higher wear rate on the other components in the drive train. All of which are harder to replace. The stainless would be tougher and if you changed all the other sprockets to stainless also you would have a tough drive system that's for sure. I don't think the reduction in strength would matter much as I've seen stainless chain in some tough applications.
