Hitch ball max IV

Can't find a hitch ball with correct shank size, 5/8 is to big. Should I just drill a bigger hole?

I just measured my '99 Max II's hitch. It is 1/4" thick and the hole is 3/4". Since I'm the 4th owner I cannot say if it came that way from the factory. I cannot see how drilling out your hitch to 5/8" would cause any concern.
