  • Opinions on Max IV 16hp briggs.

Looking at a max IV with 16 hp briggs and stock tires.
Most of the time I see people have the larger motors with larger tires in the max IV.
what would be the top speed and would it be under powered.
    Thanks Scott

Scott, if I were you I would opt for a larger motor if you are going to be running the 26" tires. I have the 18hp with those tires and it's lacking torque to turn in some situations where my smaller max II with the same motor and smaller tires can power right through. I'm sure you would have fun with the 16hp and it would be a fine motor but if you can hold out for a more powerful one I would.

Sorry, I misread your first post. I have never driven a Max IV with 22" tires so I'm not going to be much help but with those tires it is going to be a little slower on the top end. What do you plan to use it for? Just normal recreational use? Also, how many people (how much weight) are you going to haul?

          Hill

Just general mucking around and I live on a lake there is over 100 steps down to the dock. it would be much easyer to shuttle older people up and down. I had a yamaha 4 wheeler I use to ride it down by my self. Some people won't walk down because they know there going to have to walk back up. most people are sucking wind and have burning calfs by the time you get back up!
          Thanks Scott
