  • Max IV Engine Cover

Fellow Max IV Owners, I am getting a cab cover made for my 2001 Max IV next week including rollup side curtains and windshield on front with small windshield on rear. My question is: What do you all do to keep rain, ice and snow out of the engine compartment during those times of raining and snowing? I thought of a 3-4" raised aluminum shelf over area still allowing air to the engine, we are not using factory cage or basket for ice fishing, trying to keep weight done. Any help is deeply appreciated. A picture would be great. Thanks

I've seen a lot of engine covers but all in the form of a basket or rack of some sort. If you're lookin to save weight I really like your aluminum idea.
What it lacks in ground clearance it makes up for with traction.

Make a frame of aluminum and wrap it in dense insect screen. Like the window screens on a house. It’s cheap, won’t keep all the water out but it will resist it, and prevent snow and leaves.
I did this with the vents on my friends machine. It looks awesome, more complete than a factory machine.
