  • Argo tires on max II?

Anyone actually run the argo 24x10-8 tires on a max II? I wish mudd-ox would make the vendetta in a 24" size! Just the argo tire seems so narrow. I tried contacting mudd-ox in a few different ways all with zero reply. It is the holiday season though. Them argo tires are expensive but at least I don't have to buy 6 new larger rims to run them. Buying tires sucks.

I've tried them on my green Max2, they ride very comfortably, swim well, mud decently, however I've found the tires are very susceptible to punctures. I've had to go back and add the Highlifter pink slime to all of them to make sure they don't go flat during a ride. I wouldn't call the tire fragile, but it could be made better, maybe with 6 ply. The other issue identified is that they are expensive tires, and no one can explain why they cost so much.

Noel, you are the official AATV tire guru! Thanks for all the info as always. I am still pushing maxxis to get me some 24x11x10 mud bugs that they say are only sold to there over seas markets.

Noel, are your tires on argo rims? What is puncturing them? Are you having the same issue with your argo?

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
        Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

My Argo tires are on factory Argo rims. Where I ride in the swamps of East Texas we have a lot of cypress knees and many types of thorns some of which are tough like barbed wire.
I've lost several Argo tires while on my Argo(s). My count is four tires in three years. Those are on tires that I haven't been able to repair. Most of my Argo tires have multiple plugs and all have the Highlifter slime I mentioned earlier. I've never lost a Mud Bug tire, Vampire or a Terra Tire, just the soft factory Argo tires. I do really like the Argo tires because they perform well overall, but are a bit soft for my riding conditions.

Does anyone have a good source for Terra Tires?

I'm currently fighting the thorn battle with 4 different brands of tire, the Argo tire does not seem to like to run flat because the insides come apart. Guess that is why they recommend 5 psi.
