  • MaxII front chains rubbing frame

Heard horrible chain rubbing and noticed my chains are rubbing the frame under throttle.

Are the tensioners supposed to be above the chains?

    Newly rebuild t20, new chains

The front chains should be below the tensioners, the rear chains are the opposite.
The factory tensioners are marginal. I use the Richards Relics tensioners which are far superior. You could also make a set, or use Snap Idle brand floating tensioners which are also great.

Is it possible you have a bearing going out??

        Nah, it’s very distinct.

The chain tensioner makes sense to my catastrophe from a few months back too.

Wonder how long they ran it like that? They’ve been on the bottom since I got it, and I’ve only driven it once

That 100% was my problem. Also a tip, I ordered 2 of these:
          Outlaw Racing OR3078BK Chain Roller Guide 43x24mm Black CR125R CR250R YZ490 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0163E0AIS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_X0D6AbYQZFRCV

Mounted using a unistrut bolt and a washer in the same position as the stock tensioner, super easy, and works great.

Sure can as soon as I get it back. Just dropped it off at the muffler guy for the Harley muffler to be put inside the engine compartment and out the back. Woohoo, no more ear muffs.
