  • Split Upper Body Modification Max 2

Saw this on a Facebook group for 6 wheelers. Upper body is cut in half behind the upper seat. Anyone here done that before? Pros and cons? Guy said the machine is new to him, and it was done by the previous owner. I know I’m tired of removing and unwiring my front bumper, lights, winch and radio, as well as pulling the floor and all the wing nuts just for decent motor access. This mod looks like a winner to me, may go out and cut the body depending on the good word from y’all.

Here is an older thread on it: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/max-a...ine-cover.html
Hopefully Brian will chime in and tell us how he feels after some time with the mod.
Personally I just cut out the recessed area allowing room for the bigger engine. This left the back open and lets debris enter.....eventually I will get around to closing it off, but have to keep in mind the cooling airflow.[IMG][/IMG]

I've never looked back! it could be easily done with some metal brackets and not need the donor body

I’ve been thinking about doing it. Getting ready to add a bunch of metal and was thinking it would be much easier to just split it. I’ve got most of my engine hole cut away, but have my fuel tank mounted in the rear to the upper body, so it’s heavy and a pain. Would need to figure out moving that.
