  • Looking at a 1992 max iv

Is there anything to be wary of with this old of a machine? It has been in storeage and has less than 50 miles on it. It looks brand new.

The machine probably does not have the solid splined axles and has the smaller diameter outer bearings. If the machine has very low hours, you should not have problems. Get the wheels off the ground and check for play in the axle/sprocket connections and the outer bearings. If everything is tight, you should be good for many many miles.
What engine is in it? I would not expect that machine to be worth much more than $3k depending on condition. If you plan on running 26" tires and a larger engine, you may want to hold off for a 1999 or newer machine with the splined axles. The machines with the rectangle(2001 ?) headlights offer a few more inches of room for the rear passengers.

      Thanks for the quick reply!
I called recreative and they said that it had the solid axle upgrade. 25in tires and 20 kohler engine.
