  • Need some engine mount ideas for a MAX IV

Okay everyone, I've upgraded from my Max II to a 08 Max IV 1050T. I love this 29hp kawasaki engine but I need 4 new motor mounts. Anyone have success with a different style or brand sandwich mount? As i can't seem to find any factory mount in stock. I'm considering buying these on the very bottom from https://www.mcmaster.com/#=1d0gias Anyone have better success with something different?

Extreme-Temperature Vibration-Damping Sandwich Mounts with Studs

Able to withstand temperatures of -80° to 300° F, silicone rubber gives these sandwich mounts the widest temperature range we offer, as well as resistance to UV light, ozone, and oxidation. Use them to minimize vibration between surfaces inside machinery and equipment, such as in circuit boards, small fans, compressors, and pumps. Mounts are for use in compression and shear load applications.

I’ve got the 3/8” black ones from McMaster in two of mine that work good. My next move is to make a solid block that’s removable so I can drop the engine table right down on the frame to make belt changes easier. If I’m not mistaken I believe on yours you can open the secondary by screwing a bolt in? If that’s the case then I’d go with the black ones. Not sure why Max used such flimsy mounts. Hope you like your new machine.
What it lacks in ground clearance it makes up for with traction.

I’ll buy the the 3/8 black ones thanks! I'm not sure on the belt yet. I love the new machine, but unfortunately poor servicing like my last one with only 113hrs. I’ve got a ton of parts coming in the mail, plus cleaning/lubing everything right now. Still need to get a top and windshield or make something.
