Will a 2500 do the trick?

My Mile Marker 2500 has been able to pull my Argo 8x8 out of some thick stuff with no problem.

      Hi:
Recreatives recomends and sells a Warn 1700, a friend of mine picked that one up for his Max IV. It did seem a little light but they said that it is fine, and he did use it once to pull uphill out of soupy mud and it didn't strain hard, but more power won't hurt so I think a 2500 will pull you out of anything.

I bought the Camo-colored, wireless-remote 3000 lb. that Harbor Freight has. It is under $100.00. I rarely need it, but find the wireless remote to be WELL worth having, when you are out by yourself & cannot hook up & operate the dash switch on a standard winch. Just my 2 cents worth!!

You can look at two options. 1; Take the gross weight of the vehicle and double it. Then get a winch (Capacity) that is equal to, or exceeds that weight. Or 2; you can get a winch (Capacity) that is equal to your gross vehicle weight and rig a two-to-one line if needed when you get stuck. I think it's safe to say that most people go with option 1. After all, you can still rig two-to-one if/when needed giving you 4 times the pulling power. Riminder that your strongest pulling power is on the first two layers of cable on your winch drum. As your layers increase, your pulling power decreases.
It's all just nuts and bolts.

I have been stuck before with a suzuki king quad 700, and the 2500 warn BARELY got me out. I was thinking maybe bigger on the max.

You can't argue with that, smokin c. That's an excellent price for a 3000lb winch! Especially w/wireless remote control. I'm useing Bear Claw 2800lb wireless remote winch. I busted the spool 2 months out of the 1 yr warranty, and they sent me a new (NOT RECON) one, no questions asked! (Not just the spool, THE WHOLE THING! W/Remote!) And told me to keep the old one for spare parts if i ever need them.
