I have a 76 max 11, and was wondering about the 2 tubes coming out of the gas tank. I assume one is for the fuel line but if the second one is a vent, then why do they both go to the bottom of the tank?

HI. If it was originally a 2 stroke it could be a return line for excess fuel. More knowledgable people will chime in and confirm or deny. Good luck with your max. Later mike -

return fuel line
Mine is around the same year and the metal tank also has two lines. I use a pulse pump and honda clone engine. I'm using the second line as a return line as well. Without the return it would sometimes drip gas from the carb so added the return line.Comment
