New to 6 wheeling I have a Maxx IV with a split shift mod - the left shifter is stuck in forward how do I fix this????

Might just be the linkage binding up. Mine will get tough when it gets loaded up with mud. Try getting the linkage to move by play with it back at the trans.

If the machine has been sitting up a while, the diamond shifter could be stuck where it enters the transmission. Disconnect the linkage at the diamond shifter and see if your linkage moves freely. If it does, squirt some penetrating oil under the diamond and let it soak down and hopefully it will free up. Trash tends to collect under the diamond and it can create a problem. Good luck.

First being new, do you know you have to rock in the seat to get most Max's into and possibly out off gear, sometimes with a slight burp of the throttle?

If so... I know it's hard and may require a friend to operate the shift lever as it's such a distance, but watch the linkage move to see how far back the bind is if the linkage begins to bow it could be the diamond shifter in the trans cocking causing the bind and perhaps re adjusting the metal strap keeper over it will help.
Sucks it's a IV as you may have to remove the table to see anything going on under there.

        Good luck

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
        Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.
