Hi guys I'm new to this 6x6 game lol. I got a 1986 max ii with a preditor 22 hp motor in it and it ripped the mounts all up. I was wondering , the rubber insulator mounts were 1 inch tall. Could I replace them with a piece of square tube steel the length of the motor plate?

I don’t see why not. I have mine mounted solid and no issues yet. -
You'll most likely get some more vibration through the frame and into the driver's area, but the torquey engine may just pull new rubber mounts apart as well. We solid mount our shaky two-strokes and other than a few things vibrating loose every once in a while, it works.Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.
