There are several alternate sources for bearings mentioned in these forums, but no mention of part numbers, manufactures etc. that information would be extremely helpful. As I need to replace pretty well all the wheel bearings on my 96 max IV

Your machine has either the smaller 62mm outer diameter 1 1/4' shaft or the larger 72mm outer diameter 1 1/4' shaft both are eccentric lock collar bearings. Max changed the bearing size around the year of your machine so you need to find that out first. I have the smaller bearings and they use a smaller flange so if you measure the flange you should be able to determine what size you have.
Here is what you should be looking for:
Either
WPS103GR2C Bearing with Lock Collar [Shoup Manufacturing Company]
or
WPS104GRC Bearing with Lock Collar [Shoup Manufacturing Company]
Secondly I would not use the bearings from TSC I used them once when I first got my machine and the outer ones failed quickly and I ended up buying new better quality ones. It's cheaper to do it right the first time!
I would contact Buffalo bearings (their # is somewhere on the board) it seems like they have good quality bearings at descent prices and they've had enough orders from us amphibs that they probably know just what your looking for.Last edited by micmac; 10-23-2008, 08:12 AM."Don't worry my Dad's a TV repairman, he has an excellent set of tools..I can fix It"
