  • Max ii top speed?

I'm just trying to get an idea of about how fast my top speed should be on flat ground. My setup is t20 with green spring, it was a two stroke machine with yellow spring. It has duromax 18hp 440cc with some mods but anyone running a predator 420 or the same engine stock would be close enough to get an idea. My clutch is cvtech series 6, sort of like a 780 but bigger and beefier. I'm running 21x10-8 tires. Mine seems like it's moving slower than it should, low to mid teens maybe. Or is this about average, I thought I read mid 20s was average or is that on the fast side? Just not wanting to expect more from it than I should. It's plenty fast for the woods but more top speed would be nice for the long flat atretchs. Thanks for any insight.

    21s are limiting.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

I'm going up to 22 when I buy new but I don't think with my old style tub I can squeeze much more, maybe 23s if they make that size. I honestly haven't looked for anything bigger for an 8" wheel. So mid teens is probably about what I should be running? I never clocked it but it's what it feels like

I am running near the same machine as you, the brochure for the Tecumseh machine says 20 mph.
        I can't find a spec on the 295 but would suspect 25 mph, i think the 295 turned 5500rpm.

My Turd has a Vegas Carts engine in it and with 22 Runamuks it consistantly runs 32 on the big end, it was quite slower with 21s but with more grunt. You need to pick one.
Check that your rpm is in the 4000 to 4200 range Unloaded, this should allow for the full 3600 loaded rpm also watch your belt tension as this will affect speed.

Mine was originally the jlo 440. I don't mind more grunt. I'm not positive on my rpms because my crap chinesium tach stopped working. And I didn't want to get in it too hard and over rev since I removed the governor and put sine hop up goodies in it. Thank you I will check everything when it goes back together for the 4th or 5th time lol
