  • question on top for max IV

I'm making a top for my max IV and looking at some pics I see that some have the engine compartment covered. Any pro or cons in doing this? This is for winter use.

Well: Pro is that the engine provides some warmth, and it won't retain enough heat to cause issues, (you'd cook first). The Con of heat in the summer is null if your only using top in the winter. Now if you have an exaust leak it can get bad real quick, so make sure exaust flanges are tight, no rot in the pipes, busted seams, etc. and you should be fine, of course that goes for any 6-wheeler with a full top.

Hi Patrick518-I had the same thoughts as you. I had a top sewn to fit my roll bars including a rear window with zippers on it. Behind the rear window I have a small removeable section added that covers the top of the engine and most of the sides but leaves the rear screen open. It is surprising how much heat the engine blows up under the floor boards and down the sides. I seldom open the zippers on the back window. You can watch it on you tube at "Max sunk in ice "if you want. Good luck
