  • Irregular chain tension

Hey what would cause t-20 chain tension to be tight then loosen as you turn it? I removed chains to investigate but transmission and jackshaft s seem to work normal.

lift machine off ground completely and wiggle tires to check for worn bearings.

Either a bent shaft, sprocket was not centered when it was welded in place, or someone replaced part of a used chain with a new piece (would have 2 master links)

I have new shafts on both sides old ones were bent. I currently still have the same problem.I think transmission is not aligned straight in frame.I just haven’t had time to work on it lately.

I'd pull off the chain in question, have seen many chains with bent or twisted links. Roll axles over after chain removal to check you are in the right spot.
