max was out for a ride today and a horrible noise came from nowhere. I checked it out and the driven clutch was damaged. It looks like the retaining clip on the inboard side let go. I plan to replace the driven clutch and retaining clip. my question is regarding the removal and replacement. I have searched the articles and threads and cant see how this is done. Remove chains, stick input shafts then unbolt the t 20? Is the shaft reverse thread? Do I slide the engine back first to remove the belt? Im a little lost so thanks in advance for the help, or pointing me to the right article.

You'll need to remove the belt first. That may require loosening the engine so you can slip the belt off. The bolt on the driven is regular right hand threaded. You remove it then slide the driven clutch off. If its really stuck on there you might need to use a puller.

Thanks, I'll give it a go! If I can get it off without a gear puller can the t20 remain in the max 2?

        I don't see why not.
