  • Help please... unidentified spring from the engine.

Hi. The wifey found a spring jammed under the throttle/cjoke assembly, near the muffler, of our Kohler Command 25 engine.
I am thinking it came from the throttle-choke assembly, but I don't know where.
If you recognize it, snd knows exactly where it goes, I'd sure like to know. Stumped!
    Thanks.

Edit: I did discover, via a diagram, that it does go on the throttle assembly.
But exactly where? The diagram doesn't show. I'll keep searching the internet. Any help is appreciated.

I googled the throttle assembly, and found a few pictures that show the bent ends of the spring protruding through holes, as installed. The "elbow" coil of the spring goes under the bolt that all link arms pivot on. Unfortunately, the spring is hidden under the entire assembly, but I am able to detect where the spring goes by where the bent ends protrude.
We will put it back on tomorrow. I hope I am right, and it goes on easy.

I got the spring back in. One hole, on the throttle frame, is rather large, as compared to the hole in the arm where the other end goes to. It seems to slip off easy so I used a bit of electical tape on both ends to help it stay on. I don't know how this spring is supposed to be retained.
Any advise or info is welcome. Thanks.

I found that spring as well in a parts diagram but damned if I know where it goes either.gonna have to take a look at another engine to see it.

I got that spring on, and hope it stays on there. Last year, while pulling the engine out of the Max, using the two hoist tie-downs on the engine top, the rope I used snagged the throttle/choke assembly and bent the whole thing upwards. I bent it sll back down, but the linkage arms don't work as smoothly as before. I think this is when that spring came off? Most likely. Very fortunate it didn't fall off and got lost. The throttle did work last year, and again this year, without that spring. It looks like it works the choke arm, not throttle.
I'm thinking to buy a new throttle assembly, even though this one works. Its just bent a bit throughout all the arm linkages. Better safe than sorry, I suppose.
