    My new Max 6x6

    this is my first post and i just wanted to say hello Since i live in texas i have never seen one of these machines before until i came across this site. i just wanted to tell everyone on here thanx for a new hobby. i went on the internet and found a max iv for sale 1500 miles away. off i went the next day to go buy my new toy. all because of this wonderfull site.
    i went out to day and i got it stuck 5 times. the mud down here i guess is different that the mud up north. i guess i have to find better tires

    thanx again and i will be asking many questions because no one has one of these machines around me

    Greetings!!

    Welcome to the site!! you might have to get different tires. what do you have on there now? don't forget to clean and armorall the bottomof the body...... NOT the tires!!!

      max post up some pic of your max . what tires you running now ., robbie
      1999 max 2 18 b&s 22 tires custom . new max iv 23 k 26 i/n tires brown . ht cable promark winch . new toy 1972 attex st400 400ccjlo and she will be bad . ( the frog ) if it don't float with out you getting wet . don't bring it ! R.I.P sage rogers 4 11 09 . you can't fix stuped !!!!! raceone 3 .)

        Hey Dustin, Welcome. I remember some years back when all the machines I found for sale seemed to be too far away and not closer to home. You must have really found exactly what you wanted or you got a great deal to go that far away to buy it. Show us your Max because like to see pictures too.

        What tires do you have? Getting more stick time with your machine may aleviate some of the stuckies that you had. Maybe you have dry mud there and the rest of us have greasy mud

        I still get stuck just like everyone else on here. You just were willing to admit it without anybody bringing it up.

          i bought a 98 max iv with about 50 hrs. on it it came with a front windshield the solid axel upgrades and the 26 in. tires. it has the 20 hp vangard motor on it. the tires still had nipples on them so i think it had less than 50 hrs. on it i paid 3000 for the machine. i dont know if i got ripped off or not but when i really want something i go and get it . just had to have it because this site just drove me nuts everyone having fun and the way i look at it you only live once.

          i reallly dont know what tires it has i will look tomorrow

              I don't think that's a bad price at all, and road trips are fun. My first machine was local, the second was a day trip (plus meet a member). Extra engines for the firts machine (and meeting several members) was another day trip, A new tub was another day trip yesterday, and an engine for it was a trip that took most of today
              Still, I don't think that, even if I count another (day into night) for a machine that turned out to be a real PILE, I've logged 1500 miles (and if you meant one way 3000)

                  What PSI are you running in the tires? Tires don't work well in the mud if they are over-inflated.

                    You might want to talk to MightyMaxIV about mud tires for the Max IV. He has experimented with a bunch of them on his machine and might be able to give you some advice. Here is a link to his gallery.

                        the tires are tru power ats and i am running 3 psi in them
