'84 Max II in forward only wheels spin all the time

I'm sure this has been addressed but after an hour of searching I was unable to find a comparable thread. My apologies if so.

Refurbing a '84 Max II. Nearly done, adjusted steering levers at the trans as they were under the dash when forward and had about a 10" throw from front to back. Since this adjustment when the trans lever is put into forward the wheels turn under power, not fast, but enough to crawl along.

In reverse this does not happen, wheels are stationary until the stick is pulled back.

The drive belt is adjusted correctly, idle is set properly and the fact it only creeps as soon as shifted into forward indicates it is probably a trans adjustment/issue, right? Maybe?

Thoughts and potential solutions appreciated. Working on this 6X6 has given me the BUG big time! I see an 8X8 project in the near future.....

Hi Rokoneer. Good to hear that you are almost good to go with your new Maxii. Don't forget that the T20 trans is the opposite when shifted into reverse. ie: brakes on when the sticks are against the dash and when the sticks are pulled back you're ready to drive backwards when you squeeze the throttle. Sounds like your secondary clutch is turning when at idle. This can be from your belt being a hair too tight, belt too wide, clutches out of alignment, or idle set at primary clutch engagement rpm. Hope this helps.

Indeed it was one of you options...the belt! Adjusted as 'loose' as the sliding motor mounts allow. Turns out the belt is an oddball, not a standard size or cross reference to the correct belt.
