My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
Joe Camel never does that.
Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

Not a whole lot of progress the last couple days, spent a little time cleaning frame and going over some spots with the wire wheel. Bit of rust under the bearing flanges/ underside of frame but its mostly on the surface. Ordered some por15 to go on frame when Im done cleaning up. Hoping to have more pictures soon.

Hey guys haven't updated in awhile:
I ran into some trouble with my phone when the screen broke, was unable to take pictures or update thread while I waited for a replacement screen. Got that worked out so I'm back now.
I was able to continue working on the Max though, cleaned and coated the frame with a layer of POR15 and got everything reassembled with all new bearings and strip caulk around the flanges. Jackshafts and chains were cleaned and tensioned. Oil and filter on engine were changed.

We got a bit of snow while all this was happening, so there was some working around that. But all things considered it went back together very smoothly and I'm happy with the job. I'm hoping to take pictures soon and post on the site. But because i did not have a camera (phone) while i was doing the reassembly the pictures will only be of the finished product.

I scrubbed mine out with some Dawn water, worked pretty well, scrubbed it with a brush then rinsed out. Worked good for me and mine had stuff caked in pretty bad around the back sprockets. Simple green or any degreaser should do the trick. I used oven cleaner on my sprockets and transmission.DanW
