What is the going rate for a good use T20? Anybody got any ideas on what the average cost for rebuild? Who do you recommend?

My personal opinion is if you can find a decent used one for 500 it's a pretty good price. Rebuilds depends on any internal wear and band/bearing/bushing condition.
There's a lot of factors to rebuild costs.

Hashi, I agree with Dave. It may be easier for you to find a junker 6x6 with a T20 and just pick up the whole machine. I picked up one a few years ago for $100. There is a Hustler in Memphis for $450 or so and it has a T20. Don't know if its any good, though. Keep an eye out for a whole machine that you can pick up cheap. The truth is, if you find just a T20 alone for sale, you're probably going to want to open it up and go through it to make sure it's in good shape....unless the seller can absolutely prove its in good shape.

I just ordered bands and a seal kit for mine and it was 353 for bands and 72 for the seal kit. Mine was pretty good inside though so I skipped the thrust washer kit, it was 140 for the seal + thrust washer kit. Unless you can find cheaper bands I'd imagine around 400 bucks just to do the basic rebuild if all other parts are good.

          Dw,

Transmission Crafters in Georgia will reline your existing bands for about $35 each.

That would have saved a good bit more, I went with the RR "newer stronger" style. We will see. I will just be glad that everything major will now be new or rebuilt.

Make sure you have good snap ring pliers mine were some hf cheapos cost me alot of cursing. I'm sure the guy that decided to use snap rings on the shifter diamonds instead on a piece of angle across the top, to hold them down, must've been upset with his wifethat day.
