Does anybody have an idea how loose or tight the center plate hub in the gear drum bushing should be and should there be a little side play ?

Do you mean in the t20 transmission? And side play do you mean the input shaft sliding a little tiny bit in and out or do you mean when you wiggle the center plate it will go side to side? Mine is tight in the case halves but the input has a little bit of in and out play but not very much.DanW

Nevermind I was over thinking the question, I think it should be loose enough to allow it to spin but not sloppy loose. I might not be thinking about it correctly but I'm sure a pro will chime in. There's a great write up for the t20 that is step by step and maxrules99 on YouTube has a pretty good video that's for the most part step by step the whole way through.DanW

Is the bushing in the drum pretty ugly or does it look good? I got lucky mine were pretty decent and everything fit pretty good . I was surprised because mine was definitely abused and neglected. I can't remember if Richards had the bushings in stock or not. Max6x6parts might be cheaper if they have them in stock. I shopped between them and Richards to get what I needed and msafia on here helped me out with my detent springs and u channel clips.DanW

I don't know the exact specs but mine is loose enough it turns easily by hand but tight enough it doesn't just flop around or anything that feels excessive. I pretty much just followed maxrules video on YouTube he didn't really do anything too special just made sure everything felt good.DanW
