Hey guys! Working on a 79~ max iv....

Are all of the axles the same dimensions? I need to replace them all.... they are so badly rotted and I’m currently soaking EVERYTHING to get it apart.... if you’re on the “bring back the max 6x6” group on fb I hve a thread there that I plan to be transferring to here when I have time.... I am literately rebuilding EVERY THING

The max IV had 2 lengths of axle. It was about 1/2” shorter from bolt hole to flange face. I make all mine to the longer dimension. All bolt holes are in same place in a IV. If your doing a full restore I would put spline axles in the rear. The bolts take a real beating on those and are hard to replace in the field. I’ve done a lot of them that way and many years of service.
