  • Position of chain tensioners. Install question

I am installing four new chain tensioners. They are the original type of tensioner for my 1998 Max II. The vertical sliding type that lock into place. Am I correct to assume the rear tension from the top down and the front from the bottom up? There has been several owners of this machine and I'm thinking maybe someone replaced them and installed them incorrectly. I researched a bit, but didn't find anything specific. I don't have a lot of time to do a good search today and we are going riding this afternoon. Thought I could get a quick answer faster. Thanks.

Rear lift to tension the slack side of chain. Fronts push down.
