hey friends..on my max 2 with a 21 h.p. briggs vanguard , the throttle lever works pretty easy when motor is not running . when running , it's much harder to pull on. the cable is fairly new and lubed well and so are the carb throttle parts on carb. is it because when it's running there is pressure from the governor ? appreciate any thoughts . johnboy va.

thanks toys...2 questions then , will the throttle be much easier to pull ( i have some arthritus in my right fingers ) and some say bypassing the govenor on a b and s vanguard can blow it up . ( no so it seems with the predators ) . i don't run my max that hard . if it's o.k on the briggs , i'll look up the procedure . thanks for your expertise . j.b.

The only resistance will be the return spring. Will be much easier on your fingers. I run my machines to the max all with governors bypassed. I ran all my Briggs with the gov bypassed and now all my predators bypassed. If you haven’t changed the valve springs the only thing you may do is float the valves. I’ve seen how you rid and you are pretty easy on the throttle so in my eyes you have nothing to worry about.sigpic

thanks mike , that's a good alternative . i may do the bypass ..seems it's o.k. toys , thanks again . can you give me a quick how to on the governor removal . just taking the arm lever off the governor rod sticking up from the crankcase won't do it huh ? that whole gov assembly need to be removed ? have'nt found anything on u tube yet . does the engine need to come out ? always appreciate your experience on these motors . j.b.

You could also use a longer throttle handle assy like a bike brake handle assy.sigpic
