  • Kold kutter screws in Max factory tracks??

I've searched for info pertaining to my question but found nothing so maybe someone here may have some insight or personal experience. I'm wondering if anyone here has ever tried the kold kutter screws in RI/Max factory rubber tracks? Like many other people before me, I'm also trying to find a way to get traction for ice fishing, plowing snow etc. I'm open to whatever works so if there's a tried and true setup out there that uses something other than kold kutter screws for Max rubber tracks then by all means please fill me in
    Thanks Cup

Not that anyone's interested lol but I'll go ahead and explain what I came up with. Didn't have the highest expectations for the staying power of the screws in the rubber part of the tracks due to how short they had to be to not pass all the way through and into the tires. As it turns out my low expectations were fitting because the screws pulled out with very little effort. However, plan B came to very quickly. The metal tab, small plate, connector or whatever it's called that fastens the sections of track together and is held in place by what appears to be 2 large heavy duty rivets, yeah those turned out to be the perfect place to install the screws. In the middle of the rivets is a hole that just so happened to be slightly smaller than the screws so that's where I installed them. Used a stainless hex head nut as a washer which gave me the added height needed for the screws to be just a hair taller than the tread of the tracks. So far I've lost only one or two and they work fairly well on the ice. Need to raise them a hair higher and add a few more on each side to improve the traction a little more.
