  • I?m back. This time with a max II rebuild.

Hi all, Im back after not posting for a few years. This time Im rebuilding a 1979 maxII.
I purchased it as a project that was abandoned by someone else. Im all in with this one and have taken it down to the frame. Upper body and tub are in good shape. No cracks, holes or heavy fading. Thats the good part. The rest of the machine needs a bit of work. The bottom of the frame is rotted away on one side and needs replacement. The frame may also be bent and out of square. I need your input on that. Question I have is the rear of a maxII frame straight and square to the side rails of the frame? Or is it slightly bent back on both sides from the two center rails? Can somebody post a few pictures of their rear frame. Let me know. I’ll try to post some pictures also. If it turns out that the frame is bent then I will rebuild the entire outside frame heavier and stronger than the original.

welcome back buddy ... max 2's are great machines , so it should be a fun rebuild . lot's of help here on the site for you . in terms of the square frame , i'm not sure but it seems to me what would be the reason for it not to be perfectly square when designed ? i look forward to some others input . johnboy va
