  • Need Help With Max Ii Axle!!!

so after driving the max today all at once a wheel came off...stopped to take a look and the part of the axle where the rim bolts on to broke off the hollow tube of the axle.
first thing, is is possible to have it welded and hold like it should?
and if not, what should i expect to pay or what work is involved to change it out?
    ugh it just never ends...
    i need something tougher lol

You can probably weld it depending on where / why it broke. I wouldn't see a problem with doing so. However, you may want to contact Whipper first and just get him to make you a new (solid) one. If you are going to have to pay someone else to weld it you may not have much more tied up in a new axle. Just a thought.

As for how to remove it, there is a step-by-step guide in the how-to section: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/gener...placement.html

I have a used but good (not bent) hollow axle. I would be happy to give it to you to get you back in action. I also live in south Florida, so you are not too far away. If you are interested please let me know.

Are you talking about the axle or the hub flanges broking off the hub tube? My hubs use to break all the time but think I finally welded all six back on. Havent had any problems so I think maybe welding it would be stronger than stock. Seems that way to me anyways. But if your talking about axles then not sure. Mine are solid and never had any problems.
