What size/group number battery do y'all have in your max II's ?

I don't remember the exact size, but it is a $20.00 Walmart garden tractor battery. -
i put the biggest garden tractor battery i could find,a little more cranking amps in the winter,i have a vanguard 16,bought the battery at advance auto parts.1996 MAX IVComment

I am hoping to find a conventional car battery that will fit with out too much fuss.

I'm using a Yellow Top Optima in my Argo Bigfoot. I can't remember the cca's, but it has worked great. It was the smallest Optima that Advance Auto sold and fit perfect.

Build a mount for an auto battery in that Max and run dual batteries. The factory battery location limits the battery size to a lawn mower battery which is pretty anemic when it's real cold. The charging system of the Vanguard engine will charge a dual battery setup.sigpic
